Dashboard tour

Find your way around the sidebar — the two programmes you run, and where everything lives.

The sidebar has two groups: the everyday pages at the top, and Loyalty underneath — the programmes that are the reason you're here. This page walks it top to bottom.

The sidebar at a glance

  • Dashboard — your home. A short setup checklist while you're getting started, then how your loyalty card is doing this week, and a banner whenever a diner uses a reward. Click a tile for the detail behind it.
  • Notifications — things that are true and worth knowing: a tag nobody has tapped, a card with no reward wording, your trial ending. Each row links to the page where you'd do something about it. The badge counts only the rows that need you.
  • Updates — what's new at your place: a dish, an event, a change of hours, an offer. Diners who follow you see it. See Updates and Followers & alerts.
  • Menu — sections, items, prices, photos and serving times, with your QR code at the bottom of the page.
  • Loyalty
    • Punch card — your own card: how many visits, and what they earn. See Run a loyalty punch-card.
    • Passport Setup — join the shared card diners fill across ten different restaurants. See Foodie Passport.
    • Check in — how a stamp reaches a diner. Your tap tags live here, and below them a keypad for the times a tag isn't to hand. See Check diners in and Tap tags.
  • Settings — profile, billing, and team. Owners and managers only.
  • Contact Us — reach the AskFoodie team.

Inside Settings

  • Profile — restaurant name, cuisine, description, location, contact details, your Google listing, and the danger zone (deleting the restaurant).
  • Billing — your plan, or the days left in your 60-day trial. Owners only. See plans & the 60-day trial.
  • Team — invite and manage owners, managers, and staff.

Good to know

  • Some pages hold a second thing inside them. Your QR code is at the bottom of Menu, your tap tags are inside Check in, and "Rewards used today" is behind a Dashboard tile — all things you look at occasionally, so none of them takes a permanent slot in the sidebar.
  • Menu is never hidden. It's a top-level item whether or not you've added anything, because your page is already showing whatever's in there.
  • A badge means a decision is waiting. Only Notifications carries one, and only for rows you can act on — a badge you can't clear is worse than no badge.
  • What staff see is smaller. Staff get the day-to-day pages but not Settings, not your tags, and not the numbers on your card. See Roles: owner, manager & staff.
  • Opening hours are edited on the Menu page (via the Default serving time chip), not in Settings — Settings shows a read-only summary that links you there.
