Foodie Passport

Foodie Passport is a stamp collection you fill by eating out. Visit ten different restaurants in one category, and the page mints two rewards you can use at any of the ten places you stamped — your pick, one at a time.

It's free, there's nothing to download, and you fill it just by going out to eat. Your passport lives at /me/passport.

Getting started

1. Get an account. Confirm a code sent to your email — no password.
2. Get stamped. Scan the restaurant's QR code, open the 4-digit code on the check-in card at the top of their page, and show it to staff. They type it in, and every card you're collecting gets punched at once. Some restaurants have a tap tag on the counter instead — tap your phone on it and the stamp lands by itself.
3. Watch the page fill at /me/passport.

If a restaurant has a tap tag, you can start at step 2 and skip the account for now — a tap collects up to 3 visits per restaurant on your phone, and they all move onto your passport the moment you sign in. You'll need the account before you can spend what a full page mints.

The four categories

Every partner restaurant belongs to exactly one: Coffee & Quick Bites, Casual Dining, Drinks & Nightlife, or Fine Dining & Premium. You can fill all four at once — a coffee stamp doesn't slow down your dining page.

What you earn

• Ten different partners fills a page. The same restaurant only counts once per page, however often you go.
• A full page mints two rewards, each live for 60 days.
• Spend them at the places you stamped on that page. You choose which one. It isn't valid at a partner you never visited, or at one you stamped on an earlier page — each page's rewards belong to that page's ten.
• Your page resets and starts again — the badge on it shows how many you've completed.

Using a reward

Rewards from every programme live together in /me/rewards.

1. Open the reward and tap Show staff. For a Foodie Passport reward you first pick which of your stamped places you're at — and you'll see what that place gives before you commit to anything.
2. Show the screen to staff. It names the perk and any conditions. Nothing has been spent yet: if they can't do it right now, just close it. The reward is still yours.
3. Tap Use it now once they've said yes. That's the step that spends it.
4. They hand it over. If something goes wrong afterwards, they can return the reward to you rather than burning it.

You don't need to be checked in. Your 4-digit code is for collecting stamps, not for spending — you can use a reward the same visit you earned it.

One reward per place per 3 hours. If you use a punch-card reward at a restaurant, your Foodie Passport reward is dimmed there for the next 3 hours, and the other way round — it's one bill for them either way. A dimmed reward tells you why, and when you can use another.

What you don't get to see in advance

The partner list shows you who is a partner, not what each place gives. The perk is something you discover when you walk in — that's the point of the hunt. Each restaurant writes its own, and each covers its own.

Once a page is full, that changes for the ten you stamped: you have to pick where to spend, so you get to read each of their perks and choose.

Good to know

• Each restaurant counts once per page. Filling one is genuinely a tour of ten places, which is what makes it worth two rewards.
• Rewards belong to the page that minted them. Nobody settles up between restaurants — whichever of your ten honours the reward pays for it, which is why it can only be one of the places you actually ate at.
• Stamps don't expire, but the rewards they mint do — 60 days from the day the page fills.
• A visit can do double duty. One check-in stamps your passport and punches that restaurant's own punch-card if it runs one. Your cards from every restaurant live at /me/punch-cards.
• If a restaurant leaves Foodie Passport, stamps you already collected there stay on your page — they just aren't somewhere you can spend a reward any more. If every place on a full page has left, the reward says so.
• Nothing here costs you anything, and you're never asked for a card.
