Review scanned items & dietary tags

Give AI-created items a quick human check before diners rely on them.

When you scan a menu with AI, the dietary tags, allergens, and ingredients it fills in are educated guesses. The review flow makes sure a human looks at each guess before diners trust it — especially for allergy answers.

How it works

  1. After a scan, the Menu page shows a banner counting how many items are still unreviewed.
  2. Open an item, check its details — dietary class, allergens, ingredients — fix anything wrong, and save. That marks it reviewed.
  3. The counter drops as you go; the banner disappears when you're done.

What to check on each item

  • The dietary class — is it really vegetarian/vegan? Hidden ghee, fish sauce, or egg are the classic misses. Each item carries at most one main class (non-veg, vegetarian, vegan, or eggetarian), so picking the right one replaces any wrong one.
  • Allergens — nuts, dairy, gluten, shellfish. A diner reads this on the item's detail, and it's the field they'll trust you on.
  • Ingredients — a short honest list beats a long guessed one.

Good to know

  • You're nudged, never blocked. Reviewing is strongly recommended, but nothing filters an unreviewed item out of your page — a scanned menu goes live as the scanner read it. The menu is yours, so read it once.
  • Hand-added items never need review. You wrote those yourself; only bulk-scanned items are flagged.
  • Contradictory tags can't happen. An item can't be both vegetarian and non-veg — choosing one class always replaces the other.
